Here are 9 super foods you need to be eating that can make you feel better, be healthier, and have more energy.

Food is the most powerful “drug” you can put in your body.

If you goals include feeling better, being healthier, having more energy, losing fat, or just fitting into that wedding dress or looking good in that tank top, here are 9 super foods you need to be eating.

1. Leafy Greens

Yes, this one is obvious but how many people are really getting enough leafy greens in their daily diet? Are you? Come on, really?

You don’t want to miss out on super food powerhouses like spinach, turnip greens, mustard greens, collards, lettuce and kale (very “in” right now, that kale!).

These leafy green super foods are seriously packed with vitamins A, C, and K, not to mention loads of fiber, folate, calcium, lutein, iron, potassium, and magnesium.

Leafy greens aren’t the favorite of many people. You can get some of your greens in a Green Super Food Powder.

You can also use this neat little trick – add some kale or spinach to your fruit smoothie when you blend it up. You won’t even notice it!

2. Greek Yogurt (the unsweetened kind)

Greek yogurt has twice the protein of ordinary yogurt (roughly 17 grams per 6 ounces). Protein boosts your metabolism and helps you burn more fat.

Greek yogurt also has live and active cultures: S. Thermophilus, L. Bulgaricus, L. Acidophilus, Bifidus and L. Casei.

3. Wild Salmon

Omega 3 Fatty Acids are crucial for our health and may reduce risk of heart attacks and strokes. The typical modern diet gets too much in the way of omega 6 and not nearly enough omega 3. But fatty fish like salmon have a high omega 3 content. Go wild.

4. Mangoes

A single cup of mango has some seriously health benefits such as: 100% of a day’s amount of vitamin C and a third of vitamin A. There’s also a good amount of potassium, not to mention a full three grams of all important fiber.

5. Broccoli

Steam it. Add some flavor like a touch of Parmesan cheese, a little minced garlic or just a touch of fresh lemon juice. You’ll get a lot of vitamin C, K, folic acid and also carotenoids.

6. Butternut Squash

Glorious amounts of Vitamin A, C and fiber.

7. Sweet Potatoes

No, not the kind a lot of people have at Thanksgiving, covered in all that yummy, syrupy sauce! Just bake ’em!

Sweet potatoes are super food rock starts! Tons of carotenoids, potassium and fiber! You can sprinkle with a spice – cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika, chili, or whatever suits your tastes (those spices are super, too!).

8. Watermelon

Once again, a super food loaded with a ton of vitamin A and vitamin C, as well as potassium. Watermelon also contains a good dose of lycopene.

9. Garbanzo Beans

Beans in general – super! Lots of fiber, protein, zinc, potassium, iron, magnesium, folate, and copper. Garbanzo beans can be used in a lot of ways, from putting them in stews, soups and curries, to putting some on your salad (the salad without the 2,000 extra calories of dressing!).
